TEDx University of San Carlos

Greetings Earthlings!
Last October 11, 2014 was the second Tedx talk by San Carlos University,
and if you guys aren't familiar about Ted, then I strongly suggest you to stop here,
and go check it out.

A Tedx with a touch of South, was its catchy line to hint the general public that the second Tedx talk
was going to be held at the University of San Carlos- Downtown Campus, Cebu City. Specifically at the Theodore buttenbruch Hall.
I got my tickets from a friend who studies at the University, which was very convenient for both of us
because she had direct connections to the organizers of the event.
I've been watching Ted videos for about 2 years now, so when I heard about a project like that coming up in Cebu, I was ecstatic.

The event lasted about 4-5 hours in total, they gave us a 15 minute break to energize us.
The first 2 hours of the event was a real drag, don't get me wrong, it was indeed full of education, and innovative ideas, but the videos were really lengthy, and it was one after another, which didn't really give the audience time to fully grasp, and take in all the ideas.

A quote from one of the videos shown:

"Don't let your kids play guns. It might just be play but it could also be practice" -Joanna Wheeler, TEDGlobal2014

After all the videos were done, it was time for the anticipated part - live speakers!

 In order we had:

1) Stacy Alcantara
2) Koh Onozawa
3) Atty. Jeremy Bionat
4) Matthew Basabe

Quotes from the Speakers:

"We are more than just white sand beaches and dried mangoes"
"We need to recognize our people as more than just beauty queens and movie stars"
- Stacy Alcantara

"In the Philippines, families separate because of love"
"People buy why you do things, not what you do"
(this was in relation to his company Loudbasstard,
don't know what that is? Go check them out)
- Koh Onozawa

"Do not be dissuaded by a warrior smiling. They don't always have bad intentions"
- Atty. Jeremy Bionat

"Do you say yes to forgiveness? or 'No, my pride will prevail?"
"The man who wins is the man who thinks he can"
- Matthew Basabe

The TedxUSC shirt was brought to you by Warriors Turf, only for 249 php.

The event was empowering, and the audience was very interactive,
with only a few technical difficulties, the second Tedx talk from the University of San Carlos
was certainly not a disappointment!

Laser Tag in Cebu

Greetings! creatures of both day and night,
Today was the last day of finals week, which marks the end of the semester!
Woohoo! ohh yeah! Finally, an end to what was 5 months of stress.
Now I'll have to wait in agony for the release of my grades. :(

Something to lighten up the mood. :)) To those who cannot understand,
it states that not all "trespassing" is bad, because in college a "tres" which is 3.0 is
a passing grade already! Since most of the college systems here go by 1.0 as the highest, and 3.0
is equated to the 75% passing mark.
On another note, since finals are finally over, it calls for a celebration!
It's gonna be LEGEN-wait for it-DARY!
actually, my batch mates and I just went to play Laser Tag. :))

Laserbiltz is located at the 2nd floor of Parkmall
opens at 10 am to 9 pm daily.

There were 17 players, and we all had to pay 150 php per person
which lasted about 30 mins.
It was an intense workout indeed.
Happy sembreak!

Greetings from the south side of Cebu, Philippines!
It's been gloomy lately...

I'll forever be in love with the rain, and all its sadness.

And with that being said, I hope everyone is safe indoors!
On another note, can we all go back to the time when taking a photo
of yourself wasn't called a selfie?

Scream:  A R T S Y!
